Do I Need a Criminal Defense Lawyer?

Edward C. Weber

If you are being charged with any type of crime in Ohio, whether it be a felony or a misdemeanor, it is extremely important to consult with an Ohio criminal defense lawyer. Any type of crime has its consequences, and even crimes that don't seem too serious can result in jail time, probation, community service, fines, and much more.

Some people feel that they are better off representing themselves in a criminal case, but the consequences that could result because of this can be completely life altering and could have otherwise been avoided possibly. Being able to effectively represent yourself against a prosecutor that is experienced in criminal cases is unlikely and close to impossible. You will be at a severe disadvantage by doing this due to the fact that prosecutors have much more knowledge on the law than the average person.

Remember, even if you are not facing charges or accusations yet, it is possible to be a suspect during a case. Before making a statement, it is important to consult with a criminal defense lawyer, due to the fact that anything you say may be used against you in the future.
