Internet crime can include: The government has responded to this new cyber-universe by setting up different sub-agencies within existing law enforcement agencies to tackle the problem of cyber crime. The US Department of Justice (DOJ) has set up the Computer Crime & Intellectual Property Section (CCIPS) and has empowered them with implementing the DOJ's national and international strategies for combating internet and intellectual property crimes The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), the National White Collar Crime Center (NW3C), and the Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA) have collaborated to create the Internet Crime Complaint Center (IC3). The IC3 is responsible for collecting, developing, and referring complaints of internet crime and to alert authorities of suspected criminal or civil cyber violations. Ohio Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force (ICAC) is the local division of a federal initiative to crack down on internet child predators. The U.S. Department of Justice’s Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention funds the ICAC.
