In Ohio, the penalties for felonies include:

• Aggravated Murder – Death penalty, life in prison without parole, or life with parole after 20, 25 or 30 years and a fine of up to $25,000
• Murder - 15 years to life in prison and a fine of up to $15,000
• First Degree - three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, or ten years in prison and a fine of up to $20,000
• Second Degree - two, three, four, five, six, seven, or eight years and a fine of up to $15,000
• Third Degree - one, two, three, four, or five years and a fine of up to $10,000
• Fourth Degree - six, seven, eight, nine, ten, eleven, twelve, thirteen, fourteen, fifteen, sixteen, seventeen, or eighteen months and a fine of up to $5,000
• Fifth Degree - six, seven, eight, nine, ten, eleven, or twelve months and a fine of up to $2,500

Examples of felonies include falsely causing the evacuation of a public place or causing serious public inconvenience if it results in physical harm to any person, this is a fourth degree felony. Possession, sale, manufacture and cultivation of bulk amount of schedule I or II drugs with the exception of marihuana, cocaine, L.S.D., heroin, and hashish is a fifth degree felony. As the amount of drugs in question increases so does the severity of the charge thereby lowering the degree of the felony.
