If You Are Arrested

  • Do not talk to individuals from Law Enforcement. It is your Constitutional right to not have to answer a police officer's questions.
  • Do not agree to any search, or turn over anything to Law Enforcement.
  • Do NOT please guilty!
  • Do not sign any papers without talking to your lawyer.
  • Tell your lawyer everything about your case. What you say is confidential and cannot be used against you.
  • Do not talk about your case with your friends, family, or other people in jail. What you say can possibly be used against you.
  • The Prosecutor on your case is a very experienced lawyer who is very knowledgeable with the law. Because of this, it is important not to represent yourself.
  • Identify and find any witnesses - if possible - that may have facts about the case that work in your favor.
  • Don't go to court without getting a consultation first from an Ohio criminal defense lawyer.
